Lynda Harrison is one of the founder members of Mandy and the Girlfriends. In this fantastic interview, Lynda casts her mind back to the sixties and the desire to be in a girl band. While most of the breakthrough bands at the time were male, Mandy and the Girlfriends bucked the trend and started gigging in the UK and Germany. But first Mandy had to get her Dad’s permission. She recounts how Mrs Smith, Mandy’s mum, came round to her house and persuaded her dad to let her play. Lynda went from her job as an apprentice hairdresser, straight into the band.
